Supporting our work

As an independent charity, we rely on generous donations from individuals, groups and businesses as well as other fundraising activities.

Our Current Appeal: "1 in 4"

1 in 4 refers to those who experience a mental illness every year in the UK. It could be you, me, a family member, someone we care about or know who experience mental health problems and need our support at some time in their life.

South Lakeland Mind need to raise £25, 000 to continue to meet the demand for our services and to promote mental health and wellbeing within our local community.

Our landscape is changing. There is increasing need for our services; in the last three years, we have seen demand for these grow threefold. During this period there have been substantial cuts in funding. We must ensure that we have the ability to adapt and react to these changing and challenging circumstances as we move into the future.

This appeal will sit alongside our traditional grant-based funding, our community-based fundraising, and our recently developed training programme and will enable us to meet our community’s needs.

South Lakeland Mind delivers a ‘gold standard’ Counselling service, a nationally accredited Peer Support service and a variety of group sessions to help individuals manage their wellbeing. We also provide training for individuals and organisations to facilitate open discussion about mental health issues, their impact and how to support themselves and others with their mental wellbeing.

You can support our 1 in 4 campaign in several ways:

We really value support from all our individual and corporate champions. If you and your friends or colleagues could find time to support our appeal it would really make a difference. You may have your own innovative ideas and we would love to hear from you so that we can promote your activities on social media, click here for a list of fundraising ideas to get you started.
